TIMES OF SERVICES
On most Sundays there is a service at
11.00 a.m. but please check with the notice board in the porch, or on our Services page here.
You would be most welcome to join us at any of the services
There is an intercession box in the prayer corner for the use of anyone who would like us to pray especially for them or someone dear to them
There is a bookstall at the back of the church and cards are also available. Other items are on sale on special occasions.
CLIMBING THE TOWER
The tower is open during the Martham Carnival weekend and on other advertised occasions
are available in the tower when anyone is on duty, otherwise, public toilets are situated on Martham Green on the east side of the Kings Arms Public House, five minutes walk away
The congregation of St Mary the Virgin, Martham welcome you to our website. Our wish is that you find it interesting, helpful and informative.
Our lovely church is one of the largest in the area and is sometimes referred to as “The Cathedral of the Fleggs” because of its size. (Flegg itself is probably Old Norse, meaning a place where water plants or flags could be found.)
We hope that you will take some time to look through the site and learn of the past and present of our beautiful church. You will also find items, which will show you what we hope for in the future.
Should you be able to visit us in person, we can assure you that there will be a warm welcome for you at St Mary’s. The Church is open to visitors during most daylight hours all the year round (services permitting)
